2 months to go!!!

32 weeks pregnant...time has FLOWN. However, i have a bad feeling the next 2 months will drag a little more. Hopefully not but you never know.

1) I've been feeling pretty good lately. The only things i've noticed changing is my breathing ability! Apparently the bigger the baby gets the more s/he pushes on my lungs which the other night made me panic. I was sitting down watching TV and attempted to take a deep breath and absolutely could NOT do it. of course i started freaking out like somethign was wrong and started crying, which doesn't help things. Pete luckily was able to calm him down. Thank GOD he was blessed with patience because I sure as heck was NOT. Must be why we're a good fit :) He calmly got me to settle down and relax. Then he looked online and sure enough, read all sorts of things about how after 30 weeks you start to get short of breath.

2) Bloody noses...almost daily. nothing extreme, but it's pretty annoying. Especially when i've gone 28 years without having one. No, my blood pressure is not high. Last time is was like 96/62 or something. The highest it's been is 112/60 something. Low BP Here!

3) Getting comfortable in bed isn't as easy as it used to be. Especially when my husband tries to steal my body pillow.

4) I still get up 1-3 times per night to pee...lots of fun.

5) i LOVE feeling the baby move around. There is honestly no better feeling in the world than feeling your baby inside of you...except for those few times s/he really jabs me in the side or kicks me hard, it feels wonderful :) I honestly sit at work sometimes, or at home, or in bed with my hands in my belly. I may look ridiculous but I don't care because as long of a journey as this has been, i'm not missing out on any movements, feelings etc. I really am blessed and thankful for each and every day i feel this little baby moving around inside of me. It's reassurance all is well :)

6) According to Pete i have more energy than i'm supposed to. He read i'm supposed to be tired in the 3rd trimester but i haven't been able to fall asleep as early as i used to and he's a bit confused haha. Yes, I do get tired, especially the longer i'm on my feet. But my mind is going a mile a minute thinking of what i want to get done before the baby comes so it's hard to fall fast asleep at night.

7) I still crave fruit. Strawberries and Watermelon mostely right now. However, i have to admit, chocolate is SLOWLY starting to creep in the mix. I think this will make Pete's life if i start to like sweets as much as he does. That boy would put hot fudge and Marshmallow fluff on his burger if I'd let him. Who needs ketchup/mustard/pickles?!

8) We have a few names picked out for both genders. Some days we think we have "the name" but then we battle back and forth over what we each like more. We haven't told a soul this time what our names are...for specific reasons :) So keep asking people! you'll know when we know :)

8) Mst of all....Pete and I have not even met this little miracle growing in me and we love him or her SO much! God is good!!!

Here's a fun little comparison of 10 weeks ago to now.
Week 22

32 weeks - supposed to be a squash, not a pumpkin :)

Nursery Closet Dividers

As my due date draws closer, i've discovered i've become a bit psychotic as far as random things that i decide NEED TO BE DONE as in all at once, right now, not tomorrow etc. Pete actually said to me last night "aren't you supposed to be more tired in your 3rd trimester? Everything i've read said you're supposed to and that you'll sleep more but you're the opposite" Yes Pete, i've gone crazy. Doesn't mean i'm not tired, becuase I am, my brain just doesn't have a shut off button anymore.

On Pinteresst (of course) i found a project for organizing the hanging clothes in the baby closet, SOOOO necessary right? :) I of course believed it to be so last weekend i made a little project of it. I went to my #1 go to store lately, Hobby Lobby where they will pretty soon know me by name, and bought my items:

- foam circles
- scrapbook paper (because who ever has enough of that stuff??)
- x-acto knife
- Mod Podge glue

I glued two foam circles together, just to make it a little thicker and sturdier, not really necessary though.
I then began tracing the scrapbook paper i had bought so they fit on the circles.

I used my trustworthy Mod Podge and glued the paper to the foam circles and let it dry overnight. Which was torture becuase i just wanted to finish it at once. Oh well!
The next day i cut out letters/numbers with my trustworthy Cricut machine. Instead of doing Newborn, 0-3, 3-6 etc. i skipped newborn since they don't wear them long anyway! I did 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 months.

I used my little glue dots that i use when scrapbooking and stuck them on the circles which was VERY time consuming.
Then i took the x-acto knife and cut out circles in the middle of each of them so they would fit on my clothing pole in the closet. Yes, i did measure before doing so :)

Here's the finished product! Maybe the flowery looking one is too girly but i don't care :) i loved the colors and pattern of it!

Have I gone crazy? Maybe....but whatever keeps the next 7 weeks going, consider it a project! :)

Baby Shower #2 - Jen's Side May 19th

This past Saturday I had my second baby shower! My aunts, Jayne, Tammy & Lisa threw it for me at Aunt Tammy's house. They had a brunch theme and the food was DELICIOUS!! Stuffed French toast, an egg bake, baby "bumps", a fruit carriage, kringle and a delicious cake!
When i first got to the shower, my brother Kyle showed up. He has been working on a gift for the baby, a homemade dresser/changing table. He covered my eyes and when he got me in front of the dresser, I was shocked at how beautiful it was! the details he put into it were amazing!! I had watery eyes from that, and then he goes and opened the top dresser drawer where he had put a Bible Passage in it.

"Jeremiah 29:11. 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future"
Then the waterworks started. I started sobbing so Kyle gave me a hug. Then he got teared up. Weird thing was, i hadn't even said hi to anybody at the shower yet before all this happened lol. so i finally turned and said hi to everyone with a watery face :) Well worth it though!

We played the baby food game, but luckily didn't have to taste it. We just had to guess 10 of them based off of what we saw. Much easier than tasting :) Not to brag, but i won with 6 out of 10. My mom and Caitlin came in second with 5 out of 10 so i let them win haha. Which worked out nicely since the gifts were wine and mine would OBVIOUSLY have to sit for months :) Mom and Caitlin will probably put a nice dent in the wine on their own.
After that we ate and then opened gifts! It was a GORGEOUS day outside!!! Although I was definitely starting to sweat. I'm slowly dreading being 9 months pregnant the end of July! Pete's starting to learn that i'm hotter than normal too. He turns the air off in the car and i turn it on and point it at me lol.

When the shower was over, I picked up Pete and we went back to Sheboygan that night. I don't think i've ever been so antsy to start putting the room together before! I was mostly anxious since i have the dresser now so i can put things in the right spots. It's coming along really nice though! That's all i can think about working on now is the baby room. Pete just says i'm nesting. Apparently i was rearranging the piles on the floor i had already arranged without noticing so Pete stopped me from doing it a third time :) Next up...figure out what to put on the walls, end table and lamp :)

A few pictures below from the shower!

Baby Shower #1 May 12, 2012 - with Friends

On 5/12 I had my first Baby Shower! My two friends, PK and Erin threw it for me and it was wonderful!! They did such a great job decorating, making food, two diaper cakes, onesies as decorations, cute games and wonderful friends that attended! Having a baby shower definitely makes things a little more realistic! And it's a big eye opener of the things you need to get yet or haven't thought of! They had strawberry and raspberry drinks (delish!!), veggies/dip, chicken sandwiches, pasta salad and my favorite....a bowl of fruit. I didn't want to be rude and take the whole bowl as my meal but i definitely could have! The cake was amazing too, white cake with raspberry filling...Mmmmmm!! My mouth is watering thinking of the raspberries in it!
All in all, it was a wonderful shower and went so smoothly! It was awesome to see my friends for a few hours! And Pete was pretty stoked about the stuffed sheep...it's already in the crib :)

Teagan trying to dig in my purse :)

Cute onesies they had hanging for decoration, and for me to take home. First one says "My parents love me" :)

CUTE cake and amazing raspberry filling!!

The onesie my mom found for me haha...maybe if it fits the baby can wear it after Whitney's wedding in August :)

Nick & Caitlin came over that night and gave me some gifts....including homemade onesies! One had a whale and one was an octopus! SO CUTE! She even sewed eyes on them :)

29 Weeks

Here's a pic from last week :)

Girl Question Book

A few months ago I made a book for my friend's son. This time I got to do a girly one :) I made it pretty simple but I think it still looks cute and dainty for a little girl! I'm giving this one to Gretchen, Pete's cousin's daughter for her 4th birthday this fall...it was supposed to be for her 3rd, but i'm about 6 months late so now it's for her 4th :)

Cover of the book, Gretchen's initials.

28 Week Glucose Test

I had my 28 week appointment on May 1. During this appointment they test your iron levels and your glucose to check for gestational diabetes. In order to check they have you drink this "orange drink" that basically tastes like orange soda with no fizz and is very thick. Everyone told me about it and said how gross it was which i thought wasn't bad at all...maybe the last sip was getting to be pretty thick/sugary, but not a big deal.
Got the results back and they said my glucose levels were high and i had to do a 3 hour re-take test the next morning...not fun. I had to fast for 12 hours before going in too. I got there at 8 and they took my blood. i think i would have been fine if giving blood wasn't AWFUL for me. The day before (first test) they poked my left arm and couldn't find my vein and of course, end up moving it around in my arm, feels awesome by the way, until they finally get blood to come out. So my left arm was already bruised from that.
They took blood right away, then had me drink the Orange Drink and i had to go back in 3 times every hour for the next 3 hours to get my blood drawn. Easy, except my veins don't cooperate and they end up poking me two times almost every time to get to one. So both elbows are bruised right now but feeling fine, not a fun experience!
I got the results back that night and my levels were fine. WOO HOO! Doctor said since i'm not a soda drinker, sometimes something sugary like that is a shock to your system so my re-take results were low and i'm A.O.K. :)
Iron was barely low he said so i just have to take some iron pills which i hear almost everyone ends up having to do.
Baby and I are good to go! SOOOOOO anxious for July!!
week 28 - Rutabaga!

Door County - "Babymoon"

The last weekend in April, Pete and I decided to go to Door County for the weekend and have a little "Babymoon" as i hear they're called!  We actually realized this was our first trip since our honeymoon (almost 4 years ago!) that we went somewhere ALONE! No Hahm or Cooper brothers along, just us two, so it was really nice!
Friday
Checked in at the Blacksmith Inn on the  Beach around supper time. Weather was in the 50's all weekend but it was sunny! We went across the street for fish at the Cornerstone Pub which was amazing!
Saturday
We had every thought of sleeping in, but were both up and wide awake by 7:30/8:00. So much for that! We decided to go to Fish Creek and drive around a bit and decide what to do. We ended up going to Peninsula State Park and drove through that. We did climb some 75 foot tower to look out over the area which was pretty. Once again, it was a little chilly though so we didn't do any hiking, not that i really wanted to :) we went downtown Fish Creek and did some shopping. To my surprise, Pete actually was excited about it (or did a good job acting like he was!) and we went to a few chocolate shops some miscellaneous other stores as well and had a great time! We ate at Bayside Tavern since we heard they had great food, and they did! Then we stopped at a little area with a few stores such as a baby store and "Trendy Tails" so of course we got Izzy a new toy and leash which is awesome!! https://wackywalkr.websitesource.net/ I highly recommend this leash. Izzy hated it the first day but she has the hang of it more now :) We stopped at a baby store as well and were looking around. The lady there was showing us a million things.
A few things I need to purchase still that we found at the store were:
Sophie the Giraffe http://www.amazon.com/Vulli-Sophie-the-Giraffe-Teether/dp/B000IDSLOG
Then Pete wanted these baby papers, so we purchased these as well. http://www.peapods.com/browse.cfm/baby-paper-polka-dots-crinkle-toy/4,1849.html
It's actually pretty neat...it's cloth and when you crinkle it it makes the sound of paper which we all know babies love!
After shopping we realized it was only early afternoon so Pete suggested we drive up to the tip where the ferry picks you up to take you to Washington Island. We missed the ferry by 30 min but the drive there was pretty!
We went back to our place and sat in our Whirlpool tub for awhile and then took a nap....AMAZING! i love naps lol. For dinner we went to White Gull Inn which was DELICIOUS. They had homemade bread for an app at the table, we each got a salad and then I ordered Duck with rice and mixed veggies and Pete got lamb with potatoes and veggies. Both were amazing. After, we went to an ice cream place in town and headed back to the room!
Sunday
We got up and headed back to Fish Creek for breakfast at Julie's Cafe. I of course got waffles with strawberries. Any breakfast food i can get strawberries or raspberries in is a win/win for me! I believe we were on the road and back to Sheboygan by 2:00 or so.

It was a great weekend and i'm glad we decided to go away, just the two of us, one last time before the baby comes :) While we were up there, Pete was looking at all sorts of resorts asking me to take pictures so we can remember to come back with our baby someday...i think someone is getting really anxious for Baby Hahm to make his/her arrival!!
Our Room, love the nice big bed and patio!

Pete surprised me with a dozen roses when we got there!!

Of course i took a pic of the bathroom...i work at Kohler, and they were NOT Kohler appliances :(
