Things I LOVE about Fall

Fall is here....and like most seasons, i love the BEGINNING of each season, fall is the exception and i love the whole season. Unlike when Winter comes. Yes, the first snowfall is awesome, and so pretty, but along with that comes slush, and salt staining my boots and being dragged onto my floors, drivers who forgot how to drive in the snow, SHOVELING...Ugh, i hate shoveling and finally, freezing cold weather.

I love that football season is finally here. Not just NFL but College and High School football! i love going to games and watching them, even when Pete and i randomly go to Sheboygan North or Sheboygan South H.S. games where we don't know anyone playing, but it's still exciting! Saturdays start with some college football at 11, then off to Pete's games at 1, and back home for more football that night. It normally brings out the competitive side of us, we each pick a team (never the same team, of course!) and become increasingly obnoxious to each other while we hope "our team" wins. Then of course, Sunday arrives...Packers :) Enough said!

I love being able to wear my boots again....i have missed them over the course of summer! I love being able to wear my fall hats and scarves as well. Izzy LOVES taking walks and it's so nice taking walks in the fall when the leaves are falling and changing colors...Mostly, i have to admit, staying in at night, wrapped up in a sweatshirt and blanket are the best. I love the nights where it's just chilly enough to need a blanket and snuggling with my husband, and of course, Izzy, on the couch.

Let's not forget  Black Friday comes People!! This past year entailed getting 30 min of sleep, then going to Old Navy with my mom, meeting at my aunts house at 2:45am? Heading to Madison with: Mom, Aunt Tammy, Aunt Jayne, Grandma, Tayler and Whitney. Weaving into and out of traffic, making Tayler car sick, jumping into and out of grandmas van while we shopped, me having to drive the whole time "Jen, stop, go back, turn around, make a U-turn, let's check out this store, turn right quick, wait....i want to go back", and...my favorite...my aunts telling each other "don't poke the bear" aka me...however, after driving around aimlessly for 6 hours, i finally snapped and yelled "THE BEAR HAS BEEN POKED"  enter... Starbucks and then Red Lobster! :)

Along with fall come a few little ones birthdays! Haydn, Bennett, Gretchen and Hudson are all from October - December! Lots of birthdays!! it's fun to get together with family and celebrate them! I'm shocked that Haydn will be 7, Bennett 5, Gretchen 3 and Hudson 1! Where does the time go?!

This past Friday, i was babysitting Gretchen for a little bit and we were having a fun little photo op...when it dawned on me that i was doing this with her almost 3 years ago. SO i sound my old pictures and was shocked at how this little one has grown up so fast!! Enjoy the pics!!

baby G and I!

Getting bigger, and yes, i bought her that tie dye shirt from Joe's Crab Shack:)

i have successfully made her a Packer fan...or maybe just a cute little girl that wears whatever Jen buys her!

She now understands how to make funny faces :)

too funny!

Erin & Sean's Wedding

Last weekend Pete and I headed back to my mom's house for the weekend since my cousin Erin was getting married! We came back Friday night, ate, and then went to see Kyle and Becky's new house they bought. It's super cute and i can't wait to see the finished product after they do some remodeling! So happy for them!!
Saturday started off with football. However, i was deeply saddened to find out the Badger Game was NOT going to be on TV. Seriously?? Yes, i know they played NIU but give me a break. I did manage to find a way to watch it though. http://www.espn3.com/, my lifesaver of the day! We had the Badger game on the computer and watched the Clemson game on TV :) Pete thought i was crazy, but i reminded him "happy wife, happy life" ...so LET ME WATCH MY BADGERS!!!

Erin and Sean's wedding started at 5pm in Lake Mills and the reception followed after in Johnson Creek. I have 13 cousins on my mom's side and i love them all. However, i learned something really important at the reception. I am 27. I am no longer 19, 20, 21, 22 or 23. I can not keep up with my cousins anymore when it comes to partying. Erin and I are the oldest, so whle i spent my early 20's partying, they were either finishing up grade school or just getting into High School. NOW....only 1 is in grade school and 2 are in high school. The rest? College. I will say, i kept up pretty well that night, until the next day rolled around. Today is Thursday. I'm pretty sure i was hung over until Wednesday afternoon. But..... we had a great time! The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast! we danced the night away until midnight. On the drive home we asked my mom to take us to another bar, but she said, "let's go home first" smooth call mom because we all passed out. Here are just a FEW pictures from the wedding!

A visit from Haydn and Bennett & a Badger Game!

This past summer, Pete and I offered to take our niece and nephew, Haydn and Bennett (going on 7 and 5), over night sometime. It all started because I remembered when I was little staying at my aunt and uncle’s houses overnight and having a lot of fun. I actually used to sleep right between my Aunt Jayne and Uncle Terry all the time when I was little! So we set it up to have them overnight from 9/9 – 9/10. Dave brought the kids up around 5 on Friday night.
I did learn a few things this past weekend. I love them dearly but I can only imagine how busy they keep Dave and Karee! Haydn wanted to borrow a liitle purse of mine, so we filled it with chapstick, gum and old gift cards. She decided she wanted to “drive” so she was sitting in my car with Bennett, no keys, don’t worry! Suddenly my car alarm started going off...and no, it’s never gone off before so I had no clue what to do. The kids were panicking that something was about to explode and my neighbor PJ came out laughing at me (he’s the same age as Pete and I) and helped me figure out how to turn it off. So that was the end of “pretend driving” J After Pete got home, he played baseball in the front yard for a bit with Bennett while Haydn modeled some of my high heels for me. Our other friend Brenda, brought her son Colton over too. The kids all of a sudden, went running into PJ’s backyard. Haydn saw an open window and yelled in to PJ “HELLO???” PJ started laughing and said “Hi.....” so I grabbed the kids and we decided they needed more space to run J We took the kids down to the lake for a bit and they put their feet in and played on the swing set there in the sand. Then we grabbed some pizza and headed home! We decided to have a bonfire in the backyard and roast some S’mores and tell “scary” stories, which basically ended up with us making up names for each other and talking about what we did all night. We came inside and watched Spiderman for a little while and they snuggled with Izzy. The kids went too bed by 9:45 and Pete and I went shortly after because we were pretty tired ourselves!

Snuggling with Izzy!

Saturday morning I got up at 6:15 to get ready for the  Badger game that I was going to with my friend Jackie. I was in the shower about 10 minutes when Haydn and Bennett appeared in the bathroom wide awake lol. They went and woke up Uncle Pete, who tried to convince them to go back to bed since it was early, but no luck J They watched some cartoons for a bit, watched me get ready and asked me a bunch of questions about what I was doing. Pete made them some breakfast and I left home by 7:15 with Jackie for Madison. Pete took Haydn and Bennett to Lakeland to run around on the football field and in the gym before meeting Dave at 11:30 for drop off.
Meanwhile....the Badger Game was awesome, always is! Badgers won 35-0!! WOO HOO! I met up with Nick there as well for a bit at half time. After the game, Jackie and I headed back! Pete was gone at his own football game down in Kenosha, which started at 7pm which I wasn't able to make. Unfortunately, they ended up losing L Poor guys! Pete spent the majority of Sunday doing yard work a.k.a. fuming about the game, but whatever works! I do have to say, my yard looks great now! Love you Pete J

Jackie and I at Stadium Bar before the game.

Love all the Red!

I ran into Nick at the game....Nice shirt bro.

This weekend, we’re heading back home for my cousin Erin’s wedding! I can not wait to see all my cousins and relatives!! Especially my cousin Tom who is back from Italy where he’s in the Air Force.  It’s been awhile!! I am slightly nervous to see which one of my cousins, brothers or husband for that matter, will get in the most shenanigans that evening! As long as Kyle isn't hanging from a tree, Pete's shoes stay on, Nick and Matt don't get sick, and a few other thousand instances i WON'T mention, we should be okay! :)
